Welcome to the “about” section of the official website of DJ Hype. Hype has been in the Spokane club scene for a little over a year now and is quickly rising to the top as one of Spokane’s finest DJ’s. Hype brings something to the table that no other DJ can do. His ability to rock a party and keep the crowd hooked and entertained while gracing them with his emcee capabilities is something that cannot be easily attained.
Growing up in a small town north of Spokane, he first was inspired to DJ when he was in high school. After getting setup with his first ever gig his junior year of high school, he has been rocking parties ever since. However, lets get the story straight. This was back when PCDJ Red was popular and mixing wasn’t even considered. However, he still never left the crowd dissapointed.
After graduation he attended Whitworth College in Spokane, WA. He kinda put the idea of DJ’ing on the back burner for a couple years. However, the desire and fire returned to him his junior year of undergraduate work and he began slowing getting back into DJing. During this time it mainly consisted of house parties, weddings, and school dances. Hype finished up his degree and was on to graduate school.
Attending graduate school now at Gonzaga University in the MIT (Masters in Initial Teaching) program DJ’ing was something on the back burner once again. Full time school was a major priority, yet opportunities kept arising and pulled him back into the game. After practically falling into a resident gig at Club C8/Elements Nightclub in north Spokane, he rocked it 3 nights a week during his stent there for over a year, while still being a full time graduate student.
Now, with school on the back burner he can focus on DJ’ing full time and climbing his way to being one of the best in Spokane. A fully transformed DJ that used to specialize only in top40 and hip-hop, now with a fresh new look at attitude, Hype will amaze you with his new found passion and desire for dance remixes, house, and electro that is on the leading edge with some of Spokane’s finest DJ’s. With his ability to rock any type of party with any type of genre of music (excluding Stanky Leg & Soulja Boy), Hype will surely leave you wanting an encore. Hype has teamed up to work with several other fine DJ’s in Spokane such as DJ Freaky Fred and Emcee Squared. Collaborating with other fine DJ’s can only help one another become the best in the business and make sure that they can offer a product that is unmatchable.
Hype gives thanks and praise to the people who have helped him get this far. This includes family and friends along the way who have made everything possible. Hype knows he isn’t the best DJ in Spokane, nor will he ever be. But he can definitely show you a good time and leave you wanting more!
